The Government of Río Negro has announced the reopening of the Río Azul–Lago Escondido Natural Protected Area (ANPRALE) following a preventive closure due to adverse weather conditions. This decision allows visitors to once again access popular trekking circuits and mountain refuges in the El Bolsón region.
Authorities from the Secretariat of Environment and Climate Change emphasized that while conditions have improved, the area remains a rugged natural environment with inherent risks. Visitors are required to register through the official website before entering, a measure designed to assist in emergency prevention and response.
Safety recommendations include following the instructions of Environmental Guards, staying on designated trails, carrying appropriate equipment, and monitoring rapid weather changes such as wind and low temperatures.
