Río Bellavista border crossing closed due to fire

The Río Bellavista international border crossing, formerly known as Radman, has been temporarily closed following a significant fire at the Chilean-side facilities. The blaze, which occurred on Friday, October 23, damaged the operational installations of the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and a residence used by officials from the Tierra del Fuego presidential delegation.

Authorities from both Argentina and Chile have implemented a preventive closure affecting all vehicle and pedestrian transit. The crossing is expected to remain closed until at least Tuesday, October 27, while technical assessments are conducted to evaluate structural damage and ensure safety conditions for personnel and travelers. No injuries were reported.

Travelers are advised to use the San Sebastián International Pass as an alternative route. Official updates regarding the reopening and the cause of the fire are expected following the completion of the damage assessments.
