Río Breogán advances to BCL qualifying semifinals

Río Breogán has advanced to the semifinals of the FIBA Basketball Champions League qualifying phase held in Samokov, Bulgaria, following a 105-84 victory over Manchester Basketball.

Despite an early 7-0 run by the British side, Breogán regained control behind performances from Tevin Brown, who scored 20 points, Francisco Alonso with 18, and Rasir Bolton with 17. The win secures Breogán a semifinal matchup against Dziki Warszawa.

In the other qualifying bracket, Dziki Warszawa secured their semifinal spot by defeating VEF Riga 102-95. Joseph Girard III led Dziki Warszawa with 25 points, overcoming a late surge from Riga's Jordan Sears, who scored 33. Only the winner of the tournament will earn a place in the Basketball Champions League regular season.
