Río Cuarto agricultural event evaluates spraying technologies
The Fitosanitarios 360 event in Río Cuarto brought together over 400 producers, technicians, and industry experts to evaluate the efficiency and quality of various agricultural spraying technologies. The field trials compared the performance of agricultural aircraft, drones, and ground sprayers.
A central theme of the event was that technological advancement is not solely dependent on purchasing new machinery, but on the effective calibration, measurement, and professional knowledge of existing equipment. For instance, a 1961 Piper PA-25 aircraft, valued at approximately $90,000, demonstrated high-quality fungicide application by covering 100 hectares per load in about an hour when properly configured.
Results indicated that correctly calibrated aircraft achieved over 90% application quality, meeting ideal parameters for insecticide and fungicide treatments. The event highlighted that optimizing current tools through better technical knowledge can significantly enhance productivity and precision in crop protection.
