Río Grande advances formation of Municipal Disability Council

The Municipality of Río Grande is advancing the formation of the Municipal Council of Policies for Persons with Disabilities, established under Municipal Ordinance No. 4903/2026. During a recent dialogue session, officials presented “Un Mapa de la Diversidad,” a report based on a previous survey designed to identify the specific needs and realities of the city's disabled population to inform public policy.

The initiative aims to ensure the active participation of persons with disabilities in decision-making processes, following the principle of “Nothing about us without us.” The process includes an electoral calendar and various stages to facilitate involvement from municipal officials, educational institutions, and local associations.
