Río Grande advances territorial planning strategy

The Municipality of Río Grande has advanced the development of its Landscape and Territorial Planning Plan (PPyOT) through a specialized workshop titled ‘Towards the Territorial Planning of the Río Grande Suburb’. The initiative aims to create a long-term roadmap for the city's growth, establishing criteria for urban, productive, and industrial development while preserving environmentally significant areas.

The workshop brought together various sectors to validate the technical diagnosis prepared by municipal teams. Participants included representatives from the National University of Tierra del Fuego (UNTDF), CONICET, INTA, the College of Architects, the Professional Council of Surveying, and various provincial housing and land registry agencies.

Working groups addressed several key pillars, including heritage, environment, tourism, production, industry, urban consolidation, and strategic projects. The plan covers both the urban center and the suburban area, where rural, industrial, and environmental interests intersect.
