Río Grande construction sector faces uncertainty due to FAMP fund paralysis

The construction sector in Río Grande, Tierra del Fuego, is facing significant uncertainty due to the paralysis of funds from the Productive Matrix Expansion Fund (FAMP). Julio Ramírez, General Secretary of the UOCRA, reported that while industrial companies and the municipality had established agreements to fund key infrastructure projects, administrative paralysis has halted progress.

Ramírez noted that several firms have already received initial advances but are facing delays in subsequent payments, with some certificates totaling over one billion pesos outstanding. This situation is creating a double impact: financial losses for contractors who have already invested in works and increased unemployment among workers who were expecting to resume operational tasks.
