Río Grande Court Begins Closed Trial of Father Accused of Long‑Term Daughter Abuse
A 51‑year‑old man is on trial in Río Grande, Tierra del Fuego, for alleged sexual abuse of his biological daughter over a seven‑year period when she was aged six to 13. The case, heard behind closed doors to protect the victim’s identity, involves charges of sexual abuse with access to the victim’s body and corruption of minors. The prosecutor read the indictment and the defendant exercised his right to remain silent on the advice of his counsel. Testimony from the victim and four other witnesses was recorded. The panel of judges – Verónica Marchisio, Eduardo López and Pedro Fernández – ordered a short adjournment, with the trial to resume on Monday.
