Río Grande expands municipal judo program to over 100 athletes
Río Grande Mayor Martín Perez met with judo athletes and their families at the Municipal Dojo to reaffirm the city's commitment to the sport. The municipal sports program for judo is currently experiencing growth, with more than 100 participants ranging from 4-year-old children to adults.
Sebastián Bendaña, manager of the Agency of Sports, Culture, and Tourism, noted that the municipality has expanded the number of locations available for the discipline. In addition to the traditional Dojo Municipal in Alberdi, classes are now held at the Gimnasio de Escuelas Deportivas on Roldán Street and the Gimnasio Comunitario in Chacra IV.
During the meeting, Perez recognized athletes who recently competed in Punta Arenas, Chile, and Carlos Paz, Córdoba, and discussed upcoming challenges for those traveling to Buenos Aires.
