Río Grande fishers complete operational practices training
The Ministry of Production and Environment, through the Secretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture, conducted a course on good operational practices in Río Grande. The training session was attended by 60 artisanal fishers.
The program utilized a collaborative approach, featuring experienced fishers as trainers to demonstrate net assembly and preparation, alongside Fisheries Engineering students from the National Technological University who provided technical explanations regarding materials and equipment behavior in water.
Sebastián Gauna, director of CECAFMA, noted that the initiative helps transform former students into mentors who can pass knowledge to new generations of fishers.
