Río Grande metalworkers seek legal recourse against Grupo Mirgor
Oscar Martínez, Secretary General of the Unión Obrera Metalúrgica de Río Grande, announced that workers will pursue legal action regarding five union delegates who are being denied entry to Grupo Mirgor plants. While recent negotiations successfully resulted in the reinstatement of 290 workers and limited terminations to 29, the company continues to refuse access to the affected delegates.
Martínez noted that while the union views the judicial path as complex and adverse, they respect the collective decision of the delegates to seek a court ruling. The union has pledged unconditional support to the affected workers.
