Río Grande launches food production support with TotalEnergies
The Municipality of Río Grande has launched a productive strengthening initiative in partnership with TotalEnergies to promote local food production and food sovereignty. In the first phase of this public-private collaboration, 50 fruit and vegetable producers received materials to expand and improve their production unit infrastructure, including greenhouse supplies, structures, and crop protection elements.
Mayor Martín Pérez emphasized the challenges of producing in Tierra del Fuego due to adverse weather conditions such as cold and wind. The program is intended to expand to other sectors in the future, including poultry, porcine, and artisanal fishing. The event included dialogue between producers, municipal authorities, and representatives from TotalEnergies to discuss the current needs and challenges facing the sector.
