Livestock and agricultural developments in Paraguay, Spain, and Peru
Various agricultural and livestock initiatives are being implemented across South America and Europe. In Paraguay, the Association of Criollo Horse Breeders is organizing the “Criollos para Estancia” auction to offer horses for field work and genetic improvement. Additionally, the “Del campo al plato” program in the Central Chaco region is utilizing genetic selection to enhance meat quality for consumers.
In Spain, the University of Salamanca has partnered with the National Association of Morucha Cattle Breeders to improve the genetics of this native bovine breed through advanced fertilization techniques and traceability solutions.
In Peru, the municipality of Andahuaylas has distributed 40 Corriedale sheep to local producers through the PROCOMPITE fund to strengthen rural livestock activities. Meanwhile, in Paraguay's Itapúa region, new poultry facilities are being established to increase annual chicken production through integration systems with meatpacking companies.
