Río Grande municipality issues Starlink installation safety guidelines

The Municipality of Río Grande has issued recommendations for the safe installation of Starlink antennas on vehicles to prioritize road safety and ensure optimal service performance.

Local authorities advise against mounting antennas on windshields, as this practice obstructs driver visibility and can delay reactions to pedestrians, cyclists, or other vehicles. Officials noted that National Traffic Law No. 24.449 prohibits the use of elements that impair visibility while driving. Additionally, internal wiring and devices can cause distractions or pose physical risks during sudden braking or accidents.

To ensure a stable satellite connection, which requires a clear view of the sky, and to maintain safety, the municipality recommends using specialized supports and prioritizing exterior installations on roofs, roof racks, or other appropriate vehicle structures.
