Río Grande municipality seizes abandoned vehicles in urban sanitation effort
The municipality of Río Grande, Argentina, intensified inspections of automotive workshops under its Urban Sanitation Plan. Municipal agents from the Secretaría de Gestión Ciudadana, together with the Dirección de Tránsito, Dirección de Comercio and Dirección de Ambiente, inspected workshops on streets such as Rivadavia, 25 de Mayo, Alfonsina Storni, Gobernador Paz, Finocchio, Don Bosco and Resistencia.
The operations resulted in the seizure and removal of 26 abandoned vehicles, scrap metal and other ferrous waste from public streets in July, and notifications were sent to the owners of about 140 additional vehicles to regularize their status. The city also continues to act on citizen reports received through a free 147 hotline, aiming to improve urban order, environmental safety and road security.
