Río Grande offers property tax discounts for sidewalk tree planting

The Municipality of Río Grande has announced that the property tax discount for planting trees on sidewalks remains in effect. Under Ordinance No. 3838/18, residents can receive a tax reduction for planting up to three trees on the public sidewalk in front of their properties, provided they take responsibility for the care and maintenance of the specimens.

The application period began on September 1 and will run until December 15. To apply, residents must submit a signed request note, photographs of the trees, and a copy of their ID via email or in person at the Municipal General Entrance located at Elcano 203. The benefit must be renewed annually, meaning previous applicants must re-apply to receive the discount for the current period.
