Río Grande officials warn of service disruptions due to funding delays
The Municipality of Río Grande has issued a warning regarding significant delays in the transfer of provincial co-participation funds. Government Secretary Gastón Díaz reported that delays have reached 45 days, a situation he described as unprecedented.
The lack of resources threatens the continuity of essential services, including potable water supply, sewage systems, public transportation, and 15 healthcare facilities. Additionally, more than 20 sports installations and social assistance programs—such as community kitchens, food aid, and scholarships for vulnerable families—are at risk.
Municipal authorities have met with councilors and judicial officials to establish an institutional committee to coordinate information and formalize claims for the outstanding funds.
