Río Grande provides 80% of FAMP industrial contributions

Río Grande generates approximately 80% of the industrial contributions to the Fund for the Expansion of the Fueguian Productive Matrix (FAMP). Despite this significant economic input, the city faces a lack of strategic infrastructure projects necessary to reduce logistical costs and support industrial growth, such as the pending multipurpose port.

In contrast, Governor Gustavo Melella recently announced a financing agreement of $19,857 million to expand the Water Treatment Plant 4 in Ushuaia. This project aims to double the city's water supply capacity from 20,000 to 40,000 inhabitants and include a 2,500 cubic meter reserve cistern.
