Río Grande rolls out local initiatives to showcase industry and promote accessibility

The municipality of Río Grande will run a new edition of the program “Conociendo el Motor Productivo de la Ciudad” from 7 to 14 July. Residents over 18 can sign up for guided visits to local firms such as Vitalcan, Electrofueguina, Tecnomyl, Chinoa and Kotaix Coffee Roasters to see production processes, technology and the companies’ contribution to the city’s economy.

In parallel, the Special School No. 2 in Río Grande launched a science‑fair project called “Conociendo a Río Grande”. The initiative uses playful, sensory activities to let students explore iconic city sites while highlighting accessibility barriers for people with disabilities. Teachers, families and students created mock‑up coastal experiences in the classroom and produced a video to raise awareness of inclusive public spaces.
