Río Grande strengthens agroexperimental farm through new cooperation agreement

The Municipality of Río Grande and Río Grande Activa Sociedad del Estado have signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen the Germán Asencio Agroexperimental Farm. This partnership aims to enhance the facility's capacity for research, experimentation, production, and knowledge transfer.

The initiative seeks to develop agricultural solutions specifically adapted to the unique climatic and territorial conditions of Tierra del Fuego. Key activities under the agreement include conducting experimental and demonstrative trials, producing seedlings and seeds, incorporating new technologies, and generating technical data on the most effective production systems and varieties for the region.

By establishing a public-private framework, the project intends to transform the farm into a research and development hub. This hub will facilitate connections between the municipal space and various private companies, institutions, and stakeholders in the agro-food sector at provincial, national, and international levels.
