Río Negro and Río Grande report growth in regional production
In Río Negro, Argentina, the provincial government is supporting a new honey production season involving more than 420 active producers. The sector generates approximately 1,200 tons of honey annually. To improve market access and product quality, the state is providing technical assistance, delivering materials, and authorizing extraction rooms to ensure sanitary standards.
In Río Grande, Facundo Armas, the Secretary of Productive Development, reported a significant increase in local food production. He stated that the city's share of locally produced food has risen from less than 2% seven years ago to approximately 15% today. The sector currently employs between 1,200 and 1,300 people directly or indirectly. Armas noted that food production is intended to complement, rather than replace, the local electronics industry.
