Río Negro assumes control of National Routes 22 and 151
The government of Río Negro has signed agreements to take partial possession of more than 337 kilometers of National Routes 22 and 151. This transfer of responsibility from the national government to the province aims to address years of infrastructure neglect and facilitate the recovery of these strategic corridors.
Key officials involved in the signing included Río Negro Governor Alberto Weretilneck and the General Administrator of National Roadways, Marcelo Campoy. The agreement includes the release of a contract held by a joint venture (UTE) composed of CPC and CN Sapag, which had previously restricted provincial intervention on Route 22 between Cipolletti and Fernández Oro.
This specific section, which is approximately 80% complete, includes Bridge 83, a highly deteriorated area that handles roughly 17,000 vehicles daily, including 40% heavy transport. The provincial government will now manage the administration, conservation, and repair of these essential routes to support regional economies and road safety.
