Río Negro establishes provincial day for women's cardiovascular health awareness
The Legislature of Río Negro has approved an initiative to establish October 9 as the ‘Provincial Day for Cardiovascular Disease Awareness in Women’. The measure aims to promote prevention, information, and timely diagnosis of these pathologies, which account for approximately 26% of deaths in Argentina.
Each year on this date, awareness sessions will be held to sensitize the population regarding these conditions that specifically affect women. The project was promoted by legislator Maricel Cévoli and developed with contributions from Dr. Melina Mana.
The selection of October 9 commemorates the 2005 creation of the Heart and Women Area of the Argentine Society of Cardiology, a pioneering body in addressing cardiovascular issues from a gender perspective.
