Río Negro kicks off senior games and Vuelta de la Manzana rally

The zonal stage of the Juegos Rionegrinos para Personas Mayores began on Saturday, 1 August, at the Escuela Primaria N° 219 in General Conesa and continued on Sunday, 2 August, at the Polideportivo Municipal in Luis Beltrán. Around 160 athletes aged 60 or older will compete in disciplines such as chess, tejo, sapo, padel, tennis, table tennis, orientation and motor‑skill events, seeking qualification for the provincial competition in Las Grutas, which in turn feeds the national senior games scheduled for 28 September‑2 October in San Juan.

The Asociación Volantes de General Roca announced the official presentation of the 55th edition of the Vuelta de la Manzana rally, to be run from 14‑17 August on the roads of the Alto Valle of Río Negro. The event counts as a zonal round of the Argentine championship and registration remains open until 11 August. Organisers asked participants to protect the road surfaces that will host special stages in Cipolletti, Fernández Oro, Allen, General Roca, Cervantes and Mainque, warning that violations could lead to sanctions.
