Río Negro launches infrastructure works for Tren Patagónico del Valle

The Río Negro provincial government has officially called for tenders to begin the first stage of infrastructure improvements for the Tren Patagónico del Valle. The project involves an investment of 1,781 million pesos to expand and modify five stations and extend the railway route to General Roca.

Key works will take place in Cipolletti, Fernández Oro, Allen, J. J. Gómez, and General Roca. These interventions include the construction of access ramps, accessible platforms, covered shelters, signage, and lighting to improve passenger safety and circulation.

A strategic new stop will be added near the Faculty of Medicine in Cipolletti to serve the university community, providing students, teachers, and staff with a closer public transport alternative. The project aims to improve regional connectivity and offer an alternative to the increasing traffic on National Route 22. Tenders are scheduled to open on November 24.
