Río Negro legislator proposes permanent environment commission
Provincial legislator Yolanda Mansilla has proposed the creation of a permanent Environment and Climate Change Special Commission within the Río Negro Legislature. The initiative aims to establish a dedicated institutional space to monitor and follow environmental policies in the province.
The proposal argues that climate change is no longer strictly an environmental issue but a transversal factor affecting key economic sectors, including water resources, fruit production, livestock, forestry, energy, and tourism. The commission would provide legislative oversight and continuous debate regarding government decisions related to the environment and climate.
