Río Salado Basin municipalities coordinate water management agenda
Municipalities within the A4 Subregion of the Río Salado Basin are coordinating a shared agenda to monitor hydrological conditions and strengthen prevention measures against regional water risks. During a virtual meeting of the Basin Committee's Technical Table, representatives from several districts—including Trenque Lauquen, General Villegas, Rivadavia, Carlos Tejedor, Pellegrini, Salliqueló, and Tres Lomas—shared local data and analyzed the evolution of the basin.
A primary focus of the discussions was the monitoring of water inflows from the Quinto River, which is critical for the participating districts. The meeting aimed to unify technical information and improve coordination between local municipalities and provincial agencies, such as the Water Authority and the Provincial Directorate of Hydraulics.
Local leaders have agreed to hold an in-person meeting of mayors in September to establish a joint diagnostic of the region's status and create a unified work plan. This coordination is intended to streamline demands to the provincial government regarding hydraulic works, canal maintenance, and flood prevention.
