Río San Juan truck driver killed in collision

A 49-year-old truck driver, Javier Antonio Sequeira Baldelomar, died following a traffic accident in the Caño Luis community within the San Carlos jurisdiction of Río San Juan.

According to reports, Sequeira was driving a white Freightliner truck from El Tule toward San Carlos when another black truck performed a dangerous overtaking maneuver, invading his lane. This forced Sequeira to brake abruptly, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and strike a mango tree. He died instantly at the scene. National Police traffic investigators are conducting an inquiry to identify the other vehicle involved.
