Road accident and vehicle fires reported in Romania
In Feldioara, Romania, a road accident occurred on DN 13 when two metal beams detached from a truck and fell into the opposing lane, striking another truck. The impact caused the second driver to lose control and leave the roadway. Investigations revealed the cargo was not properly secured. The 44-year-old driver from Brașov faced four contraventions totaling nearly 12,000 lei, including the illegal use of another person's tachograph card to manipulate driving and rest time records. The second driver, aged 52, was fined 6,000 lei for similar violations regarding driving and rest periods.
Separately, in Neamț County, two vehicle fires were reported due to suspected electrical short circuits. The first incident occurred in Cordun, where a parked car caught fire in the dashboard and engine compartment. A second fire took place later that evening in Roman, involving a car in a parking area on Ștefan cel Mare Street. In both instances, firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to nearby vehicles, and no injuries were reported.
