Road accidents kill seven in Karnataka and four in Kerala

A car crash near Koodali in Kerala's Kannur district on July 10 killed four young adults aged 20‑23 and left a fifth passenger in critical condition. The victims included two residents of Kerala, one from Hyderabad and one from Uttar Pradesh; the survivor is a native of Thrissur. They were travelling from Bengaluru to attend a wedding when the vehicle struck a tree at high speed.

In Karnataka, a cruiser carrying nine tourists from Dharwad collided head‑on with a lorry on National Highway‑52 near Aratibail in Yellapur taluk early on Thursday. Seven occupants, including the driver, died and two others were injured. Police say the driver was speeding and veered into oncoming traffic. All the deceased were residents of Dharwad district. A case has been registered against the driver under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
