Infrastructure projects cause transport disruptions in Austria and Germany
Various infrastructure and maintenance projects across Austria and Germany are causing significant transport disruptions.
In Austria, the Stadttunnel Feldkirch project recently held an open house event, drawing over 5,000 visitors to view the progress of Vorarlberg’s largest infrastructure undertaking.
In Germany, extensive road and rail closures are affecting multiple regions. In Ludwigsburg, several streets including Alleenstraße and Asperger Straße face closures due to roadwork and utility expansion. The Schwarzwaldbahn railway is experiencing partial closures through November, requiring passengers to use replacement buses between several stations. In Berlin, nighttime closures on the A100 motorway and construction in Marzahn and Köpenick are expected to impact commuters.
Other regional disruptions include rail service limitations on the S5, S51, and S52 lines in the Karlsruhe area, and various road closures in the Erzgebirge region due to utility work and gas repairs. In Schwerin, local festivities and canal maintenance are also contributing to temporary traffic restrictions.
