Road closures and construction updates in Hesse and Thuringia
Several road construction projects in Germany are causing significant traffic disruptions and closures.
In Bad Salzungen, the B 62 closure at the eastern town entrance has been extended until approximately October 22, 2026, due to extensive road damage. Traffic is being managed via a traffic light system. Additionally, the L 1026 in Dermbach will be fully closed from October 19 to October 23, 2026, for cable installation work, requiring separate detours for cars and trucks. In Immelborn, a 50-meter section of the B 62 truck route will be fully closed from October 26 to October 30, 2026, for road renovation, though passenger cars will not be affected.
In Mücke/Merlau, the L 3325 remains closed as the second phase of road renewal begins on October 19, 2026. This phase involves a full closure between the 'Friedhof' junction and the K 44 'Atzenhainer Straße' branch. During this period, only buses and local residents are permitted to travel between Merlau and Nieder-Ohmen. A detour is in place via the B 49 and L 3072. Work is expected to pause for a winter break shortly before Christmas and resume after Carnival.
