Ciudad Juárez implements major traffic plan for International Marathon
Authorities in Ciudad Juárez have launched a major security and traffic operation to manage the 15th International Marathon of Juárez, scheduled for Sunday, October 18. The event, organized by Gas Natural del Norte, features a 42-kilometer circuit and a half-marathon.
To ensure participant safety, the Coordinación General de Seguridad Vial (CGSV) will deploy 143 traffic police, nine commanders, 21 units, and 14 motorcycles. Significant road closures will be in effect, specifically at the intersection of Antonio J. Bermúdez and Vicente Guerrero, which will remain closed from 5:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Drivers using the Paso del Norte bridge's Express Line will face closures and must use alternate routes via Oro, Gardenias, and Francisco Villa streets. Traffic will also experience intermittent stoppages throughout the circuit as the runners progress. Officials advise motorists to plan ahead, respect signage, and yield to pedestrians.
