Romanian and Moldovan Cities Impose Traffic Restrictions

In Romania, local authorities announced multiple temporary traffic restrictions in June 2026. Pitești will close Aleea Stadionului at the Emil Mortun intersection from 15 June to 15 July 2026 for demolition and bridge work. Bucharest’s Sector 6 will suspend traffic on Drumul Taberei between Brașov and Aleea Poiana Muntelui on 13 June for the “Parada Micilor Bicicliști”, directing drivers to alternate routes and public transport. The Bucharest‑Ilfov public‑transport operator TPBI will modify twelve bus lines on 14 June to accommodate the “Run for Heroes 2026” event along Kiseleff and Calea Victoriei. Timișoara’s mayoralty will restrict traffic at several intersections of Calea Torontalului and on Ion Ghica street from 13 June through July for road‑surface laying, sewer upgrades and gas‑pipe replacement.

In Chișinău, Moldova, the municipal police will suspend traffic on Albișoara street between Mihai Viteazul and Petru Rareș from 05:00 to 17:00 on 13 June for the “Duathlon” competition, rerouting public‑transport routes and urging drivers to obey traffic officers.
