Road construction projects conclude in Waltenhofen and Holzkirchen

Major roadwork projects in Bavaria have reached completion, restoring traffic flow to key regional arteries.

In Waltenhofen, construction at the B19 intersection concluded on October 29. The project, which ran since June, included road resurfacing and bridge renovations over the A980. To improve safety at this former accident hotspot, new traffic patterns have been implemented: drivers heading south from the intersection toward Isny now have a dedicated green light phase, and an additional lane has been added for through-traffic toward Kempten. However, certain movements are no longer permitted, such as traveling straight toward Isny or turning left toward the south from Waltenhofen, with that traffic now redirected through the town to the southern junction.

In Holzkirchen, the Miesbacher Straße has reopened after an eight-month closure. The construction, which began in March, involved the complete renovation of a 580-meter section of the B13. The reopening restores access for approximately 10,000 vehicles daily. Local officials marked the occasion with a ceremony to thank the State Construction Office of Rosenheim, local businesses, and residents for their cooperation during the period of significant disruption.
