Germany roadworks cause widespread traffic disruptions

Various regions across Germany are experiencing significant traffic disruptions due to extensive roadworks, bridge construction, and infrastructure maintenance.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, the L663 between Unna and Kamen is undergoing a major one-year renovation, with partial closures at the Dortmunder Allee intersection. In Kamen, the Robert-Koch-Straße is reopening following repairs to the asphalt and underlying layers. Meanwhile, the A516 in Oberhausen is facing closures at the Sterkrade ramp to facilitate the installation of 24 bridge beams for the new Teutoburger Straße bridge.

In Berlin, multiple closures are scheduled, including sections of Hultschiner Damm in Mahlsdorf, Elsenstraße, and Ruschestraße, alongside nighttime closures on the A111. Other notable projects include the preparation for the demolition of the Zirndorfer and Schwabacher bridges in Fürth, and the expansion of the Ölper motorway junction in Braunschweig, which involves adding a connecting ramp between the A391 and A392.

Additional local works include broadband construction in Kißlegg affecting Emmelhofer Straße and a long-term closure of the K 52 between Langlingen and Hohnebostel for a new bicycle path, which is expected to last until December 2026.
