Road infrastructure updates in Krkonoše and Krhanice

The Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) has reopened a section of the I/14 road in the Semilsko region following a two-season reconstruction. The project, costing 57 million CZK excluding VAT, covered a stretch between Rokytnice nad Jizerou and Jablonce nad Jizerou. Repairs included fixing the road surface, reinforcing nine retaining walls, and improving drainage. While traffic has resumed on this route, which sees up to 10,000 vehicles daily, short-term closures are expected next week for finishing works. Further reconstruction is already being planned for the section between Poniklá and Víchová nad Jizerou.

In Krhanice, road III/1066 will be completely closed from September 21 to September 24, 2026, to repair a damaged culvert. A 9 km detour will be in place via roads II/106 and II/107 through Týnec nad Sázavou and Čakovice. The closure will also impact public transport, specifically PID line 752, which will operate on a modified schedule and bypass the Krhanice bus stop.
