Road safety awareness initiatives launched in France

As daylight hours decrease, road safety organizations in France are launching awareness campaigns focused on visibility. In Dijon, the Prévention Routière association is hosting an event on November 25, 2026, at the local IKEA parking lot. During this session, students from the École des métiers de Longvic will provide free headlight inspections and adjustments for motorists and motorcyclists to prevent glare and improve visibility.

In Besançon, the city is partnering with the Prévention Routière du Doubs to host awareness stands on November 3 and November 10, 2026. These sessions target pedestrians, cyclists, and electric scooter users, emphasizing the importance of reflective gear and proper lighting. The initiatives are part of the national ‘Lumières et Vision’ (Light and Vision) weeks, aimed at reducing accidents during the darker winter months.
