Road safety concerns rise following fatal motorcycle accidents

Recent fatal motorcycle accidents in Resistencia and Santo Domingo have sparked renewed calls for stricter road safety regulations and improved enforcement of traffic laws.

In Resistencia, the death of an app-based delivery driver has led the Motomandados Cooperative to demand comprehensive road safety policies and better regulation of digital platforms. The organization highlighted the vulnerability of workers using motorcycles for income and criticized the lack of state response regarding labor precariousness and traffic accident prevention.

In Santo Domingo, communicator Pedro Jiménez called for firm legal action following a collision in the Mejoramiento Social sector. The accident, involving motorcycles performing dangerous maneuvers, resulted in two deaths and left a child as the sole survivor. Jiménez urged authorities to enforce traffic laws without political exceptions and suggested that extreme motorcycle maneuvers should be restricted to designated, protected spaces to prevent further tragedies.
