Road safety initiatives reported in Auderghem and Doubs

In Auderghem, Belgium, the exhibition ‘Ça tient la route’ will run from October 20 to November 13, 2026. Organized by Autonomia asbl with support from Bruxelles Mobilité, the display uses 21 bilingual panels to highlight the challenges faced by people with disabilities, including those with visual, hearing, or mobility impairments, in public spaces.

In the Doubs department of France, authorities are intensifying road safety measures. The Doubs Prefecture has signed a charter with approximately 800 administrative agents at the Viotte pole to promote safer driving habits, such as limiting phone use and ensuring seatbelt compliance. This follows data indicating that one-third of fatal accidents in France are professional risks occurring during commutes.

Additionally, the Doubs gendarmerie reported significant results from roadside checks conducted on the night of October 11, 2026. Operations resulted in 25 cases of alcohol impairment, several instances of driving under the influence of narcotics, and various other infractions including drug possession and insurance violations.
