Road safety: Overtaking rules and vehicle lighting risks

Road safety concerns have been raised regarding vehicle lighting and overtaking maneuvers involving agricultural machinery. Drivers are reminded that overtaking a tractor on a double solid line is only legal if the maneuver can be completed entirely within one's own lane without crossing the line. However, overtaking is strictly prohibited in areas marked with the B-25 “no overtaking” sign, regardless of the vehicle type.

Additionally, there is a noted issue with malfunctioning rear lights on certain vehicles, particularly older models from the former PSA Group, such as Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner. Electrical faults often result in dim or single-sided lighting, which poses a significant risk during night driving. Operating a vehicle with faulty rear lights can lead to fines, with penalties potentially reaching up to 3,000 PLN depending on the specific violation.
