Road security incidents reported in Colombia and Guatemala

In Colombia, travelers reported attacks on the Pore - Paz de Ariporo road on the Marginal del Llano highway. Individuals placed stones and sticks on the roadway to force vehicles to stop, causing damage to several cars, motorcycles, and a bus operated by the company Libertadores. Local citizens suggested the attackers were two men, potentially from an indigenous community, acting with the intent to commit robberies. The National Police deployed patrols from the Pore and Paz de Ariporo stations to secure the area, but the suspects fled into a nearby forested zone during the operation.

In Guatemala, road blockades caused disruptions in several regions. Military veterans in Izabal cleared a blockade at kilometer 245 of La Ruidosa after being informed that congressmen would address their demands regarding legislative initiatives for economic support. However, a blockade remains at kilometer 126 of the CA-9 in Río Hondo, Zacapa, where protesters are demonstrating against a hydroelectric project. Other previously blocked routes in Santiago Sacatepéquez have since been cleared.
