Roadblocks in State of Mexico disrupt fuel supply and local commerce

Roadblocks in the southern region of the State of Mexico are causing recurring fuel shortages and economic losses for service stations. Jorge Luis Pedraza Navarrete, president of the Association of Gasoline and Lubricant Distributors (ADIGAL) Valle de Toluca, reported that roadworks and repaving projects have led to frequent circulation restrictions. These closures have extended fuel delivery times from the standard six to eight hours to as much as 14 or 16 hours, significantly increasing operational costs.

In a separate incident on the Toluca-Tenango highway, residents of San Lucas Tepemajalco in San Antonio la Isla staged a two-hour blockade. The protest was driven by a dispute with the local municipal government over the management and collection of fees for the upcoming San Lucas Fair. The blockade ended after authorities provided an agreement regarding the organization of the event, which is scheduled for October 18.
