Roadwork closures planned for B36 and B16 in Germany
Significant road construction projects are scheduled for the B36 and B16 highways in Germany, leading to various traffic restrictions.
On the B36 near Rheinstetten, extensive resurfacing using noise-reducing open-pored asphalt is nearing completion. Following this, a new phase of work will begin in mid-October, involving a five-kilometer section between Durmersheim and Bietigheim. This phase includes the renovation of the Durmersheim-Süd and Durmersheim-Mitte ramps and is expected to last approximately eight weeks.
In the Marktoberdorf area, the Hochwies roundabout at the B16 intersection is undergoing repairs to address pavement damage and deformations. A provisional bypass has been established to manage traffic between the B16 Marktoberdorf bypass and directions toward Schillenberg, Roßhaupten, and Füssen. The first phase of these works is expected to conclude by October 30, 2026, after which three-quarters of the roundabout will be fully accessible.
