Roadworks cause highway closures in Lyon and Lozère
Significant roadwork and highway closures are scheduled across several regions in France, affecting major transit routes.
In the Lyon metropolitan area, multiple motorways face disruptions starting August 31. The A432 will experience nighttime closures between Mionnay and La Boisse, as well as specific ramp closures near Villefranche and Grenoble. On the A47, total closure is planned in the West-to-East direction between Chasse-sur-Rhône and the Ternay junction. Additionally, the M6/M7 axis will be fully closed in both directions between the Valvert junction and Lyon Centre from August 31 to September 4. Maintenance on the A89 near Balbigny and Tarare will also necessitate nighttime closures.
In Lozère, the Piou Viaduct on the A75 motorway is undergoing repairs from August 31 until October 23. The work, necessitated by damage from de-icing and freeze-thaw cycles, has resulted in speed limits of 50 to 70 km/h. Traffic in the Clermont-Ferrand to Montpellier direction is restricted to two lanes, while the reverse direction faces lane closures and diversions near the Antrenas exit.
