Rob Dekert takes Pro Stock championship lead at Willowbank

At the Pro Stock Nationals held at Willowbank Raceway in Queensland, Rob Dekert took the championship lead heading into the penultimate round of the National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC). Dekert arrived at the event trailing Omar Sedmak by two points but reversed that deficit to lead by two points after securing a C-Final victory over Darryl Stephen.

In the Pro Stock category, returning racer John Barbagallo won the event, narrowly defeating first-time finalist Thomas Leake in the A-Final with a time of 6.936 seconds. Both finalists utilized engines from Barbagallo’s own business, Rooster Power. The weekend also saw Dekert set an Australian Pro Stock speed record during Friday qualifying with a pass of 322.04kph.
