Rob Lowe confirms ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ sequel is in development
Actor Rob Lowe has confirmed that a sequel to the film ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ is currently in development. Lowe stated that the project is “definitely in the works” and noted that the original cast members are eager to reunite for the production. He mentioned that the cast was expected to receive a draft of the script in early October.
Demi Moore has also expressed support for the project, confirming that conversations with Sony Studios have taken place. While Moore noted that the project is in its very early stages, she indicated that the studio has been driving the discussions and that the cast appears interested in returning to the roles that defined their early careers.
In separate reflections on his career, Lowe spoke about his experiences during the 1980s, a decade he described as an incredible time for movies and personal freedom. He credited the lack of social media and mobile technology during that era for providing a sense of mystery and spontaneity to celebrity life, a period he said he would not trade for any other.
