Rob Van Dam criticizes WWE over broken promises

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has expressed skepticism regarding the professional wrestling company’s management and their ability to follow through on creative plans. Speaking with ‘Inside The Ropes’, Van Dam stated that frequent broken promises during his tenure led him to stop believing in management’s commitments until they actually materialized.

Van Dam noted that despite being featured in high-profile segments with major stars such as The Rock, Chris Jericho, Vince McMahon, and Stephanie McMahon, his backstage experience was often defined by frustration. He explained that even when he was performing well, promised opportunities frequently failed to occur, causing him to lose track of his own career milestones. He remarked that while fans often remind him of victories over wrestlers like Kurt Angle and The Rock, his own memory is more heavily shaped by the plans that were discussed but never executed.
