Robberies Reported in Sorocaba and Niterói, Brazil

In Sorocaba, the Municipal Guard detained four individuals after a robbery in the city centre on the morning of June 20. The 33‑year‑old victim had his cellphone taken after being assaulted and threatened with a bottle. Police recovered the phone and a small amount of cash during the operation.

In Niterói, civil police are investigating a motorcycle theft that occurred on June 21 in front of the Plaza Shopping in the city centre. Surveillance footage captured a suspect in a hood who stole the parked bike and fled at high speed. Investigators are also reviewing whether the same individual was involved in a separate theft at a nearby newspaper stand.
