Robbery of Colombian businessmen in Tacna, Peru

Two Colombian businessmen, identified as Julián A. T. and Jhon A. R., reported being drugged and robbed in Tacna, Peru on 28 July while celebrating the city’s Independence Day festivities. After meeting two women at a discotheque on Avenida Leguía, they were persuaded to continue the evening at a clandestine cantina on Bella Tacna street, where they lost consciousness. When they awoke, they discovered that a Marine‑brand watch, an iPhone 16 Pro Max, about US$8,000 and S/ 2,000 (approximately 2,000 soles) were missing.

Police from the National Police’s Robbery Investigation Unit conducted a raid on the premises, detaining 35‑year‑old Luz Miranda Vega, who was identified by the victims as one of the women present. The second suspect escaped before officers arrived. Authorities are continuing investigations to locate the remaining suspect and to verify the origin of the stolen cash and valuables.
